Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
You will report directly to the CEO and will ensure that technology policies, systems and platforms are resilient, compliant and adhere to standards of good industry practice. As a member of the Executive Team, you will play a full role in the leadership and strategy of the business.
Key Accountabilities
- Work alongside and in partnership with the CEO and commercial, operational and
product teams.
- Develop and deliver IT/Technology strategy and development roadmap, being responsible for the technology enablement and digital transformation.
- Selecting and implementing suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize their strategic benefits.
- Directing the design and customisation of technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience and drive operational efficiencies.
- Approve purchases of technological equipment and software and establish partnerships with IT providers.
- Deliver suitable IT Infrastructure to support the business, including network, hardware, fixed and mobile comms, third party software applications.
- Direct and organize all IT-related projects both internally and with third parties.
- Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company can gain competitive advantage.
- Analyse the costs, value and risks of information technology to advise management and be accountable for implementation and control of costs.
- Recruit and embed and lead technology team to support long-term ambition, company security and resilience. Evaluate use of FTEs vs outsourced partners.
- Drive forward new platform initiatives and service offerings associated with business objectives.
- Ensure management and maintenance of GDPR compliance and Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001 certifications, including the management of all technology-related risks.
- Ensure that disaster recovery and business continuity plans are in place and tested.
- Review and approve security policies, controls and cyber incident response planning.
- Lead on approach to leveraging data and information across the business for internal and external benefit.
- Maintain a current understanding the IT threat landscape for the industry.
- Ensure compliance with the changing laws and applicable regulations.
- Brief the Executive Team and Board on status and risks, including taking the role of champion for the overall strategy and financial forecast and controls.
- Communicate best practices in Information Security and risks to all parts of the business, outside IT and to translate that knowledge into the identification of risks and actionable plans to protect the business.
- Develop strong working relationships with third party suppliers, ensuring contract compliance and effective partnership working.
- Develop and manage technology budgets and time frames.
- Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
- Making executive decisions on behalf of the company’s technological requirements.
- Align IT risk management with business-risk management.
- Monthly Board Reporting.
- Play a full role in the Executive Team and leadership within the business, including role modelling appropriate behaviours and setting high personal standards of integrity.
